Bellevue updated its 1999 Pedestrian and Bicycle Transportation Plan.
Approved by City Council in February 2009 the ped-bike plan identifies more than 400 projects that would make biking and walking in Bellevue safer and easier.

Completed Sept 2010. The Bravern Office Commons book-ends the east and west corners of The Bravern, Schnitzer West’s award-winning 1.6 million square foot, multi-use project at the gateway to downtown Bellevue.
Fully leased to software powerhouse Microsoft, the two state-of-the-art office towers total 749,694 square feet over 32 floors and are connected by gracious outdoor plazas and a retail village.

Celebrations were held last week as Wright Runstad & Company and Shorenstein Real Estate topped out their Block 5 building at 1646 123rd Ave. N.E. in Bellevue's growing Spring District. Crews from Turner Construction placed the final piece of structural steel at the top of the 11-story project to cheers from those watching below.

August 2023, the Sound Transit Board voted for a phased approach to opening the East Link Extension, beginning with now-open 2 Line service between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations.
